Chris Lambert

Field Consultant (HR Systems/FOH Operations)

Chris’ hospitality career started 14 years ago when he moved the Sunshine Coast of Queensland.

Upon completing V.C.E. at Caulfield Grammar School, Chris began his working life in the Melbourne office of share broking firm, Ord Minnett Securities. After 3 years in the fast-paced finance industry, Chris moved to Queensland in search of a different lifestyle.

When Chris settled in Queensland he discovered it was possible to indulge his passion for surfing during the day whilst making a living in the thriving restaurant industry at night.

His hospitality career began in the kitchen of award-winning Chilli Jam Thai restaurant. It didn’t take long for Chris to move to front of house operations in the same establishment, where his hard work and dedication enabled him to move through the ranks to Head Waiter.

Chris spent a total of ten years working in the front of house of some of Noosa’s most high profile restaurants including Riva Restaurant, Gusto and Berardo’s Restaurant and Bar. The highlight of this period for Chris was his 4 years at Berardo’s where he held the positions of Assistant Manager and Manager – Front of House.

In 2006 Chris moved back to Melbourne in order to be closer to family. He did a short stint at Mecca Restaurant, Southgate before moving to Oyster Little Bourke (now known as Mezzo Bar and Grill). At Oyster he held the positions of Assistant Restaurant Manager for 2 years and Restaurant Manager for a further 18 months. Leading the front of house team through the process of renovating and re-branding from Oyster Little Bourke to Mezzo Bar and Grill was a challenge that Chris took in his stride. The team of Mezzo was recognized for its efforts by being awarded “best new restaurant 2010” by Restaurant and Catering Victoria.

Chris still likes to surf when he goes to the coast. He also enjoys live music, cycling, running and throwing a frisbee.
