Albert Park, Melbourne
In September 1995, Eldred Hospitality was approached by the Melbourne based hospitality and food processing company Lewarra Falls Pty Ltd to assist with the structuring and opening of a large, multi-faceted hospitality business on the shore of Albert Park Lake, Melbourne. The business was later named ‘The Point’, after the small spit of land where it was located.
Eldred Hospitality was involved from the beginning — reviewing the architect’s plans, designing a management and supervisory structure, writing management and supervisory job descriptions, recruiting all managers and supervisors, writing staff induction and orientation manuals, training management and supervisory staff, setting-up a performance appraisal system, and coaching management procedures throughout the opening and establishment period. The venue opened in late February 1996, one week before the Melbourne Formula One Grand Prix, which is held around Albert Park Lake.
